Personal photography project for 2025 | Taking a photo a day

London & Hertfordshire photographer

February is done! Feels very satisfying to have completed another full month of taking and sharing a photo a day. Only 10 more months to go.

On a scale of 0-10 (with 0 being "easy" and 10 being "very challenging"):

February's difficulty rating: 8.5/10

Reflections:

  • February was a SLOG!
  • The short days and miserable weather didn't help - and led to lack of inspiration.
  • A busy half term with the kids didn't help either. I managed to continue taking a photo a day, but I wasn't able to keep up with editing and uploading on a daily basis.
  • I did manage to make a short film (see day 48).
  • I took 2 self portraits (in the park with a tripod)
  • I think I need to start creating and planning my photos a bit more, rather than waiting for things to present themselves.
  • 86% of photos in February were taken with my Canon R6.

Excited for March!  Spring is my favourite month when all the flowers are in bloom, days become longer and warmer, and there's so much hope and anticipation in the air.

Very proud of my daughter for getting over her nerves and doing her first clarinet exam this morning.

89/365 | Sunday 30th March 2025

ALL THE BLOSSOM! OBSESSED!

88/365 | Saturday 29th March 2025

Today was all about junior squash!

87/365 | Friday 28th March 2025

Today marks the first of a few sessions that I'm photographing at Oakleigh Park Lawn and Tennis Club. Today was racketball! One of the members knew that I was coming to photograph, so he dug out some photos of the club from 1940s. How special.

Today Daniel (Gardener, for those who haven't read day 81/365 yet!) and his dad came round to discuss the next steps for the garden. During previous chats with Daniel he mentioned how his dad, who also has a gardening business, inspired him to start his own. I love that so much.

85/365 | Wednesday 26th March 2025

Loving the nicer weather. What a difference it makes to everyone. Tonight it was so heartwarming to see the kids playing in the garden together.

84/365 | Tuesday 25th March 2025

Another day, another photography conference. Being in the slightly quieter periods of the year, it's lovely to be able to spend time honing my craft, learning from the experts and catching up with friends in the industry.

83/365 | Monday 24th March 2025

Family shoot this morning for this wonderful family of three (soon to be 4), at my favourite local park, Broomfield Park.

82/365 | Sunday 23rd March 2025

Today I was photographing the loveliest Christening at St. Barnabas Church on Finsbury Road. So here's one from the quieter moments.

81/365 | Saturday 22nd March 2025

In between the juggle that is running a business and a family, we are also having the garden tidied up (and a monstrosity of a wall that the neighbours put up, disguised). It's been so lovely getting to know Daniel, who is working on the garden, and hear all about how he's grown his business from when he was 18. The kids were so excited to have a digger in the garden, and Daniel mentioned it was always his dream from little to ride one, so I had to capture a photo!

80/365 | Friday 21st March 2025

The sunshine and shadows helping me out again today! Another quick phone shot.

79/365 | Thursday 20th March 2025

A beautiful well overdue catch up with two school friends. Started with the Wildlife Photographer of the year exhibition at the Natural History Museum, followed by lunch and a glass of Aperol spritz by the serpentine. For balance, in the evening, I met up with a potential client in Harley street!

78/365 | Wednesday 19th March 2025

Everything is a little bit easier when there's sun (and shadows!)

77/365 | Tuesday 18th March 2025

A day off in London.

76/365 | Monday 17th March 2025

Started the day off well with a solo squash session.

75/365 | Sunday 16th March 2025

Today we celebrated Fastelavn! So much fun, and my brother made all these incredible Danish pastries.

74/365 | Saturday 15th March 2025

Our shed is being knocked down next week, and so job number 1 is clearing it out and finding space to store everything. Most of it will have to be stored in the house. If you are scared of spiders, like me, (I don't know how to write this sentence without sounding like I'm a spider) you will know the fear that brings. So today we have done a trip to the dump, and also washing and cleaning everything within an inch of its life before it comes into the house.

73/365 | Friday 14th March 2025

Did an exciting shoot at a local primary school this morning. Bit different for me!

72/365 | Thursday 13th March 2025

I have a family shoot next week, so today I went and did a recce of the park. Such a pleasant surprise to see one of the trees with blossom. Photo taken on my phone, but excited to see what this spot looks like with a family in the frame!

71/365 | Wednesday 12th March 2025

Today is the big day, we are getting our fence fixed.

70/365 | Tuesday 11th March 2025

Daffodils at golden hour.

69/365 | Monday 10th March 2025

Nature's flat lay. 4 out of 7 of our fence panels are lying in a heap on the ground in the corner of our garden. Finally getting it fixed on Wednesday, and so naturally had to go round taking some "before" shots!

68/365 | Sunday 9th March 2025

Chilled Sunday afternoon hanging out with the fam.

67/365 | Saturday 8th March 2025

After swimming snacks, packed by my 6 year old.

66/365 | Friday 7th March 2025

Went to check up on our seeds this morning, and looks like we have an INTRUDER!

65/365 | Thursday 6th March 2025

Very happy that someone wanted to join me today for my photo a day!

64/365 | Wednesday 5th March 2025

Those who have been following along with my photo a day will know that I do a "red" wash one a week! Here it is drying in the SUNSHINE!

63/365 | Tuesday 4th March 2025

Snapped on my phone at the end of a long but brilliant day of learning at the Eff Stop Conference at Hitchin Priory.

62/365 | Monday 3rd March 2025

Full day today:

  • Admin/catching up on emails
  • Accountability call with fellow self employed friends
  • Call with potential client
  • Going to a local networking event
  • School pick up
  • Mum duties

61/365 | Sunday 2nd March 2025

Relaxed Sunday breakfast to start the day.

60/365 | Saturday 1st March 2025

Best light always falls on the chairs stacked in the corner by the window.
