My Storytelling Approach to Brand Photography
For Founders in north london Who Want Images That Feel True to Them

When you run a small business, your brand isn’t just a logo or a set of colours. It’s your story. It’s the way you work, the care you put in and the quiet details your clients might not notice at first but always feel.
Storytelling photography is how I bring that to life. I focus on capturing the real personality of you and your business in a way that feels honest, warm and welcoming.

1.Your Brand Is a Story
Every business is unique. Your “why,” your approach, your values.
Before I even pick up my camera I spend time understanding you, your business, and what you want the photos to do for you. This helps me to create images that not only look like you, but ones you feel confident using to connect with your clients.
It’s a collaboration, so the preparation means the photos don’t just look good, they feel aligned with who you are.

2. I Photograph the “In-Between,” Not Just the Obvious Headshot
When people hear brand photography, they usually think of a polished portrait in front of a backdrop. I’ve lost count of how many people say, “So you do headshots?” when I mention I’m a branding photographer.
Yes, headshots have their place, and I always take them for you, but storytelling photography goes deeper. It captures how you do things: the tools you use, how you interact with clients, the tiny expressions that appear naturally when you’re doing something you genuinely care about.
These in-between moments show people what it’s like to work with you. They build trust because they feel real and relatable.

3. I Guide You Gently
Almost everyone I photograph feels awkward in front of the camera, myself included. That’s completely normal. We start businesses because we care about what we do, not because we want to pose for photos.
My job is to guide you in a way that feels natural and relaxed, and to create a calm, collaborative setting. I’ll suggest the spots with nice light and good composition, but you’ll never need to perform. Show up as yourself, and together we’ll create images that look polished but not posed.

4. I Use Location to Help Tell Your Story
Where we shoot matters because your surroundings add context and personality, even in subtle ways. Whether we’re in your workspace, your home studio, your favourite café in Muswell Hill, or outside in the park, the location becomes part of your story.
I’ll take the clean, classic headshots you need, but I’ll also weave in details that hint at your personality and process. These layers make your images feel authentic and less generic.

5. Your Photos Become a Working Library
A storytelling branding shoot doesn’t just give you photos, it gives you a bank of visuals you can use again and again. Your gallery becomes a library of assets you can use across your website, social media and anywhere you show up online.
Because the images are rooted in your personality and values, they stay relevant. They make it easier to show up with confidence because you’re not trying to invent a brand, you’re simply sharing who you already are.

Storytelling Photography Is About Connection
Small businesses grow through connection, and my goal is to capture the real person behind the brand.
If you are the owner of a small business in North London and are ready for branding images that feel natural, meaningful, and genuinely “you,” I’d love to tell your story.
