Such an exciting time, but I also know how daunting finding the right photographer can feel, so I’ve prepared this guide to give you some background into me, my style of photography and my approach on the day, to help you make your decision and to make sure that we are the best fit.
It’s your day, and I’ll do everything I can to minimise the stress and help you feel comfortable and reassured, knowing that you’ll come away with a gorgeous gallery of photographs to treasure and look back on for years to come.

ABOUT ME
MY photography style and approach
Hi I’m Jane. I love to photograph weddings, and my aim is to capture all the love and emotion of your wedding day;
To tell your love story through my imagery.
My candid, documentary, style of photography means I focus on finding the details that make the day memorable and unique to you. Those moments when you think no one is watching, the big laughs, smiles and tears, but also the small glances and knowing looks.
Your wedding is about you celebrating your love alongside the people you love. It's the people that make the wedding and it's my job to make everyone feel relaxed and comfortable, so you can lose yourself in the emotions of the day.
I'll be there, in the background, capturing it all.

My work is genuine, natural and not overly posed. I want to capture the day as it was, to give you lasting memories not just of how your day looked, but how it felt.
I enjoy spending a little time with just the two of you, for some fun, relaxed portraits, to capture the laughs and love between you.
And of course all the candids of you with all your loved ones celebrating your love.

frequently asked questions
Where are you based?
I'm based in North London, but happy to travel. Locations outside of London and Hertfordshire will incur additional costs to cover travel and accommodation where applicable.
Do you edit the photos?
Yes, after the wedding day I will review every image before selecting the ones to be edited. The selected images will be hand edited in a mixture of colour and black & white. All post-processing is included in the package price.
How long do I need wait for my photos?
A few days after your shoot I'll send a few sneak peaks. Typically 6-8 weeks after your session, you'll receive a link to your online gallery.
Larger weddings and during peak season may take a week or two longer. Faster turn around times may be achievable for an additional charge. Contact me for details.
How do I receive the photos?
You will receive a link to a secure private online gallery. You can download the photos from there and share with your family and friends.

The extras
Additional coverage
You can add additional consecutive hours on top of the package you've chosen and this will be charged at £150 per hour.
Second photographer
If you are having a large wedding and want photos from different perspectives then I would suggest considering a second shooter. This will be an additional £400 and I will make all the arrangements for a photographer to come and work alongside me on the day. I will go through their images, edit them in my style before sharing one epic gallery with you.
Pre-wedding shoot
A pre-wedding shoot is a lovely way to help us get to know each other better and to help you feel more comfortable in front of the camera. Don't worry - we'll keep it informal, chat, have fun, maybe finish the session with a drink or two. I offer pre-wedding shoots to my couples in London & Hertfordshire for £150 (usually £235).

If you like what you have seen so far and you are interested in booking, you can drop me an email at hello@janenicholsonphotography.com or through the contact form on my website.
If I am available on your wedding day, we can arrange a zoom or call, to help get to know each other, and also for me to find out a bit more about your wedding. This will hopefully confirm that I am the right photographer to document the special memories on your wedding day.
After that, I'll send you a contract and invoice, and all you need to do is return it, signed by each of you, and pay 25% booking fee to secure your date. This goes towards the overall cost of the package, and the remainder isn't due until a month before the wedding date.
Then it’s official, it's in the diary and you can cross "photographer" off your wedding to-do list!
